Alan W. Simons & Co was formed in 1992 and specialises in advising owner managed businesses and their families. We are a ‘one stop shop’ for all aspects of accountancy, tax and business advice.
The practice has mainly grown by client recommendation and referral, to the size it is today. We firmly believe that by concentrating our efforts on providing a first class service and striving to exceed our clients’ expectations we will continue to be successful and grow.
Our team
We currently have a complement of seven staff including five fully qualified accountants, one qualified accounting technician and one graduate trainee currently studying towards her final examinations.
Alan Simons FCA
Alan was educated at Bournemouth School for Boys and Warwick University. He trained with Deloitte Haskins & Sells (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) and qualified with them as a Chartered Accountant in 1982.
Alan gained further post qualification experience at their Bournemouth and Bahrain offices before leaving in 1986 to join Grant Thornton, Bournemouth.
As the Senior Group Corporate Manager, Alan was in charge of over 30 staff and dealt with all the major corporate clients that Grant Thornton served in the area. Alan left in 1991 to briefly join Saffrey Champness as partner designate before deciding to start his own practice in 1992.
Bradley Webb ACCA
Bradley joined us in 2021. He has over 12 years’ practice experience and is ACCA qualified. He deals with a wide range of areas from Accounts Preparation, Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, Payroll and VAT. Proficient in accountancy software, being an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certified.
Roxanne Mcdonald-Maskell
Roxanne joined us in 2023 after completing a Masters degree in accounting and finance at Bournemouth University, and is currently studying towards her ACA and CTA qualifications. She deals with a variety of areas including Accounts Preparation, Personal Tax, Corporation Tax, VAT and Payroll. She is also an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
Callum Keeley ACA
Callum joined us in 2021 after working in Audit and Assurance for four years in a top four national practice. He qualified as an ICAEW Chartered Accountant in 2023, and brings his skillset of Audit, Accounts Preparation, Personal Tax, Corporation Tax and Payroll to the team. He is an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certified.
Victoria Luker
Victoria joined us in 2018 from Bournemouth School for Girls, and has completed her AAT Level 3. She deals with all aspects of bookkeeping and Accounts Preparation, and related VAT, Corporation Tax and Personal Tax. She is an Advanced QuickBooks ProAdvisor and Xero Certified.
Rita Fekete ACCA
Rita joined us in 2024 after relocating from London and having previously worked in practice for 6 years. She is ACCA qualified and is currently studying towards her CTA qualification. She deals with a wide range of areas from Accounts Preparation, Personal Tax, Corporation Tax and VAT.
Ifeanyi Edema
Ifeanyi joined us in 2024 having relocated from Nigeria with his family in 2023. He is CIMA qualified and deals with all aspects of Accounts Preparation, Corporation Tax and Personal Tax. He is also a QuickBooks ProAdvisor.
